INTAN JAYA - One of the military units under the command of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, the Task Forces of the Raider Infantry Battalion 509/Balawara Yudha Kostrad, is currently conducting mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in Intan Jaya Regency, Papua Tengah Province. On Thursday, 10 October 2024.
The 509 Task Forces, especially the Kotis Mamba Post led by Lieutenant Colonel Dian Dessiawan Setyadi, conducted the “ROSIKATA” (Buy up Handicraft Products) belonging to residents from the Mamba Village, Sugapa District, who sold their handicraft products to the HABEMA Soldiers.
The Commander of 509 Task Forces, LtCol Dian Dessiawan Setyadi, stressed the importance of the Task Forces’ focus on the community's fundamental needs in the assigned area. Therefore, on Thursday, the Soldiers took advantage of the protection tasks by taking advantage of their routine security duty to help the economy of the residents who sold their handicraft products in the form of noken and bracelets made from knitted thread.
While maintaining their focus on security, the Soldiers took the opportunity to communicate in harmony with the people who sold handicraft products. Despite their financial constraints, the Soldiers used their own pocket money to buy and use the products for daily use. This personal sacrifice of the Soldiers to help the residents' economy is a testament to their commitment, making the sellers feel valued, and the people think of the Soldiers' dedication. The sellers were happy because the Soldiers bought their products. Mrs. Ria Japugau, one of the sellers, was delighted with her revenue that day and said, "Thank you, Commander 509. God bless."
